“Let papa take care of you”. That’s HostPapa’s motto, and it serves to initiate the customer into their brand of web hosting. They are a Canadian company, and it is clear to see they believe in taking care of the customer. They offer unlimited of disk space and an astounding unlimited of data transfer, making them one of the first web hosting companies that comes to mind when you think about value for the dollar. This is especially true when you consider they aim their services mostly to the small and medium sized business community. If you are looking for a web hosting solution that meets the needs of your small business, you could do a lot worse than taking a look at HostPapa. To explain what we mean, let’s see how they rank in the categories that mean the most to web hosting services.
Disclosure: We are a professional review site that receives compensation from HostPapa. We test each product thoroughly and give high marks to only the very best. We are independently owned and the opinions expressed here are our own.

Reliability (5/5)
We were impressed with HostPapa’s commitment to reliability, one of the most important facets of good web hosting providers. They have seemingly covered all of the available bases when it comes to ensuring that your website will be running at almost all times. In fact, they even back their system with a 99.9% uptime guarantee, something we don’t see enough of in the web hosting world. If a company is proud and confident in their reliability, this shouldn’t be a problem. To us, this proves that HostPapa treats the burden of reliability with the seriousness it deserves.
Price Value (4/5)
Starting at under six dollars a month, HostPapa has gone above and beyond to provide the best bang for your web hosting dollar. For those webmasters looking to host more than one domain through a single account, HostPapa provides a solution, allowing up to eleven on your single account. This is of course with the restriction of bandwidth and disk space that comes with the account in question. A free domain name comes with each of their packages.
Control Panel (4/5)
There are a few companies out there who have managed to best cPanel when it comes to providing the best mixture of features and intuitive controls, but the ones that have done the opposite are far more common. The safe bet is to stick with what works, and this is what HostPapa has done.
Customer Support (4/5)
We very much enjoyed HostPapa’s customer service, and their attention to the importance of this category. Customer support is available twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, and that’s exactly what we like to see. Web hosting problems can crop up at any time of the day, and it is important that your web hosting provider is there to address your concerns when a problem occurs. There is also an extensive database on their website where you can address your own concerns before taking them to the telephone.
Overall Value (4/5)
When it comes to providing quality web hosting solutions for businesses and individuals, HostPapa has proven itself as a leader in the industry. They have also gone the extra mile and made a pledge to use only green renewable energy to power their many servers and systems. This aspect of their company could make a big difference in their success, as more and more people become involved and concerned with the environment.
Be good to the environment and your website! Sign up with HostPapa today, and for only $7.95 $3.95 per month, you receive a massive unlimited disk space and bandwidth, and a FREE domain for life! Your pocketbook and Mother Earth will both thank you.

That is right, Hostpapa does offer a value for the dollar. I think the prices there charge are cheap in terms of the services they offer. I think their customer support is quite good too and they do generally offer a very good service at reasonable prices.

I’ve had a lot of first-class service from this company. The one time I had an actual issue, it was sorted out within the hour I made my complaint.
I do like the fact that the data transfer easily breaks several terabytes. Being someone that has a lot of high-res photography, I can use all the data transfer I can get. A lot of companies claim to have unlimited data limits, but they actually don’t.

A very solid company with some very solid numbers that are actual numbers instead of abstract concepts. I much prefer a company that says “17 gig” instead of “Infinite, well, actually, I’m not telling you how much it is.”

This is the best company I know in the whole market of hosting business. I never found a company that has such a wonderful customer service, which is contacting you and solving the problems you have during a two hour period.
If someone asks me for a good host- I say “HostPapa”.

Because we saw that HostPapa had such a high ranking on some websites, we chose HostPapa. We
have been with HostPapa for about half a year now. And it has been really disappointing!
First, we can never get to talk to anyone on the phone when we have problems with their web hosting
service. Second, their Online Support is always busy ( I have only conversed with someone just once
so far! ) The only way we can contact them is to fill out a ticket online, and wait for their reply – I
nomally get their reply back the next day if I put “Urgent” on the ticket. Third, their servers are not
stable. In the last half year, we have been notified that the server would be down for maintenance 3
times. Two months ago, they changed our IP address without notifying us thus we couldn’t find the
website or cpanel, neither could our web users. I told their Online Support but they said they only did
this the once. I said we should be notified still that they had done this. The person I was talking to
didn’t say anything else – she just disappeared and didn’t speak to me again!.
So I absolutely do not recommend anyone ever again use HostPapa!

In my opinion – and that of many of my business associates – HostPapa has a multitude of problems with customer service and honesty.
In direct contradiction of ICANN regulations, they will list themselves at the domain name administrative contact. Essentially, they are taking control of your domain name, and will do everything they can to prevent you transferring it away – unless you pay “renewal” or “unlocking” fees. In some cases this can amount to $200 or more.
ICANN does NOT allow a “losing” registrar to extort money to release a domain name for transfer.
If you want to complain about registry problems, send a copy of your message to the “real” registrar, TuCows. HostPapa is NOT an ICANN-Accredited Registrar.
I believe that HostPapa is a business front for TuCows, and they have an “office” in France so they can avoid taxes, and appear ‘international.’
My advice, based on my experience is: stay away from HostPapa. I really don’t care how “green” they appear to be. I don’t think they can be trusted.
I have removed all my domain names from their clutches, and cancelled all services with them.

It seems as if the quality of HostPapa’s hosting has gone down over the years. I had multiple accounts with them and used their services for years. In the past few months my websites started experiencing several outages albeit they were for short period of time. In the last week one of my sites was down for 5 days before they fixed the issue. Another of my sites received DB connectivity issues and that problem is persisting for last 3 days and they are yet to resolve it. On the positive side their pricing is very good and they also provided a free SSL certificate recently to all their users. That was great!

Choosing a web hosting company is not an easy task. It is very difficult as almost all companies have the same web hosting plan. I am thankful to the Hostpapa who provide me something special. Friends, I have 10 hosting accounts with the Hostpapa. I am a reseller of web hosting and providing SEO services. I have various websites to promote my business. I never faced any problem with the Hostpapa. I also have other company’s hosting but I love to have the Hostpapa. They are unique in the mob of web hosting company.
I am very pleased with the customer care and support staff. They are brilliant. They have good understanding about the client’s problem. You will never face busy customer care message or engaged ring. Hostpapa is very professional web hosting company and I am grateful to their support. Well done guys. I recommend this company to all.

HostPapa have been my web hosting providers for many years. But in last nine months or so their services have become indifferent. I had multiple accounts with them but in last few months there have been many short term outages. In one of the incidents the site was down for 4 days before they fixed the issue. Another of my sites had DB connection issues and this problem was fixed in 3 days. Another problem is talking to their support as you are placed on hold for hours before anyone even talks to you. However, reasonable pricing is a positive thing about HostPapa.
