One of the many slogans at Good Avocado is “uptime all the time”. Cluster technology enables them to provide customizable, highly scalable solutions that are suited for a range of hosting needs. The company uses a system where upgrades are made according to load variances and traffic, ensuring that the sites of their clients are accessible at all times. When traffic increases, it is divided amongst multiple servers to assure consistency in load times. A 100% uptime guarantee is always questionable but as of now, reliability with Good Avocado seems to be all good.

Good Avocado straps your account with numerous features. You get unlimited bandwidth and disk space, unlimited MySQL databases and can host as many sites as you want. Professional hosting also includes a number of features including unlimited email accounts, autoresponders, a webmail interface and a scalable spam filter. Good Avocado offers an open-source suite on the FreeBSD OS with support for PHP, Perl and Ruby. At only $4.99 per month, this is a pretty decent value but far from industry standards with the lack of e-commerce tools.

Good Avocado provides its customers with the Control Center software. Though far off from industry leading programs like cPanel and Plesk, it does give you a unique level of control over your site. You can manage domains, create email accounts and maintain your MySQL databases. The lack of features in this plan sort of reduces the value of what seems to be a fairly capable control panel.

We haven’t heard too much about Good Avocado’s level of support, other than the claim that highly trained professionals are available when you need to contact them. After searching through the site for a while, we did find that the main basis of support is provided via support ticket and a knowledgebase. The fact that no phone and email support seems to be available is very disconcerting as these are the essentials of any web hosting plan.

Good Avocado offers a decent web hosting service that appears to be reliable and definitely affordable. However, this company has some upgrades to make if they want to look good beside the big boys. I think we can all agree that this plan would be far more attractive with more e-commerce tools, free software and other means of support.
