Q1. What can I expect from Fatcow that is different than other web hosting companies?

Answer :FatCow was born in 1998, and from the start it was designed to be a different alternative in Web hosting. FatCow has focused our entire company on delivering the best value and customer service experience in Web hosting, while also having fun. We make every effort to make our services affordable, easy to use and most importantly to provide real business value. We pride ourselves on going the extra mile for our customers and making sure all their needs are being taking care of.

Q2. How long will your 25% off for unlimited web hosting special be available? How much will the price be after this special expires?

Answer :Our special is scheduled to run until the end of the month. We may extend it for couple weeks though. Our regular price is $88 per year.

Q3. Can you help potential clients determine which type of hosting plan would be most suitable for them?

Answer :FatCow doesn’t have confusing hosting plans and packages. We pioneered the “one plan one price” philosophy back in ‘98 with our FatCow plan. While the plan has changed to include even more great features and services, the original concept behind the plan has not. FatCow hosting plan is suitable for a wide range of individuals and companies looking to host web sites ranging from simple to complex.

Q4. What can you tell me about the MiniMoo plan that Fatcow has to offer?

Answer :If a full hosting plan is a bit more than you’re looking for, our MiniMoo plan might just fit the bill. We created the MiniMoo as a way to get started on the Web with not just a domain name and an e-mail address, but also access to all sorts of site-building and management tools. You can post a generic “under construction” page until you’re ready for a full FatCow plan, or you can use our site building tool to build your very own page. MiniMoo is perfect if you’re just starting your business or need a placeholder for several domains.

Q5. What do I need to know in order to register a domain name at your site?

Answer :You need to know that we provide free domain registration at the moment. This is special promotion that we are running currently, so hurry up to take advantage of it.
Remember, while you are registering your own domain name you create a professional image, build your company’s credibility. Also, try to make it easier for visitors to remember your web site address.

Q6. Can you tell me about the technology that you employee to maintain server security?

Answer :FatCow utilizes data center in the Boston, MA area. It runs on N+1 power (both A/C and D/C) and provides 7/24 security. Our front-end network consists of dual redundant M7I routers and 2 firewalls incorporating IDP technology cross-connected to the outside world with BGP border gateway protocol.

Site data is parsed by our dual Big Iron load balancers and is then managed by our DELL servers, which are split into application pools (Web, FTP, incoming mail, etc.). This type of architecture allows us to customize each machine to the service it performs, which means more density per box, and ultimately, faster and more reliable services. No pool lives entirely on one rack. Therefore, even the loss of a rack’s switch or its power will not take that service pool down.

Our network-attached storage enables any machine to access a customer’s data. Every machine is clustered with another identical machine that will seamlessly take over if the primary unit crashes. These units are also backed up to another set of storage units that have a mirror copy of the data in case of disk failure in the primary units.

Q7. I notice that the E-Commerce services at Fatcow include both PayPal and PowerPay. I am familiar with the former, but what is the latter, and how does it work?

Answer :PowerPay is customizable payment-processing solution. It provides credit card processing, eCheck processing, automated recurring billing. Plus they’re including the Authorize.net Fraud Detection Suite. FatCow customers get a special pricing and save significant amount of money if they sign up with PowerPay through us. Q8. What is a script barn at Fatcow?

Answer :Script Barn is FatCow-ish name for InstallCentral which is our open source application center. If you’d like a blog, forum, photo gallery, etc. for your site, Script Barn might be the place to look for one. They’re completely free, and we take care of the installation and upgrade process. Currently we offer 24 scripts that include Content Management System, Blogs, Galleries, Forums, E-Commerce and more.

Q9. I notice that one of your newest additions is the integrated Google webmaster tools. Are there step-by-step instructions as to how to implement these tools at your site?

Answer :FatCow works with Google very closely in many directions. FatCow Hosting plans come with integrated Google Webmaster Tools and Google Custom Search Engine. Instead of going to Google in order to access them, we deliver the functionality directly to your Control Panel. Once customers sign up, they just need to activate these tools. The process is really simple and intuitive – you simply follow the flow.

Q10. If I am not satisfied with my service after 30 days, what can I do?

Answer :First of all, please contact our support team to see if anything we can do on our end to satisfy you. Our support team is the best in the industry I believe, and we have “HeiferCratic Oath” to back it up.
