iPage VS Omnis
Before the turn of the century, website hosting was still a new industry. Technology and economy of scale proved that a web host company could “share” many clients on a single server to save money, thus affordably continue to grow the number of websites on the booming World Wide Web. During the time of the boom two hosting companies emerged: iPage and Omnis.

iPage started in 1998 with the idea of flexibility. Offer clients a single hosting plan with lots of features at a low price, and focus on the three things that customers care about most: their websites, email, and security. With that philosophy iPage has grown to over 1.5 million clients and over 1 million hosted websites.
Omnis was founded on the experience of industry veterans. Their strategy was to keep expenses low and use their industry insight to provide what customers want. Today the company hosts over 200,000 websites and is still a leader in the industry.
Pricing
Web host pricing between the two companies is very similar. Both offer a single plan loaded with features. Omnis, however does offer the choice of either Linux or Windows platform hosting. The iPage plan is noted to be a regular price of $6.95 per month, yet has been offered at only $3.50 per month for quite some time and is likely their ongoing normal price. Omnis offers a Linux hosting plan for just $5.95 per month, or Windows platform hosting for only $7.95 per month.
Products and Services
While both companies offer shared web hosting, both also offer domain registration, and a free domain for the first year for new hosting clients. Both offer an easy website builder for clients.
Omnis offers additional paid services for professional web design. While that can be a helpful add-on service, iPage not only offers web design, but also full website management services including design, management, marketing, optimization, and even restore and backup services.
Web Hosting Features
When it comes to features, both hosting companies pack a punch with their single plan offering. Both agree that customers should have unlimited disk space, bandwidth, email, hosted domains, and MySQL databases. Both offer plenty of script support and multimedia support. Both offer e-commerce solutions with choices of shopping carts (iPage with 3, and Omnis with 6). Omnis also trumps iPage with the number of photo galleries offered to clients.
Customer Service
Both iPage and Omnis offer 24 hour support via telephone, chat, and email. Omnis does offer an online self-help center with basic how-to articles, FAQ’s, and video tutorials. However, iPage has a larger knowledgebase of articles and tutorials that is easier to use.
Recommendations
Though it is difficult to choose just one of these fine industry leaders in web hosting, we feel the advantage goes to iPage. Their customer service is top-notch, along with their additional products and services. While both offer a money-back guarantee, only iPage offers their customers to cancel at anytime during their membership.
