iPage VS InMotion
iPage is a dependable web hosting company started in 1998. Since then they have grown to become one of the top web hosts in the world with over 1.5 million hosted domains under management, 1 million websites, and serving customers on 150 countries. They offer a single hosting plan for an affordable price that obviously has something going for it.

InMotion, too, has been serving the web hosting industry for a while with their doors opening in 2001. Their strategy is not to offer a single plan, but a variety of plans that serve both personal website owners and small to medium businesses. They offer shared server hosting. VPS, and dedicated hosting as well for easy scalability with growing companies.
So how do the plans with iPage and InMotion stand up together? We’ve considered this thoroughly and below are our results.
For the number of features included in their single plan, you can’t beat the price offered by iPage. For only $3.50 per month they have a shared server hosting plan that meets the needs of most any personal or business website.
InMotion offers shared hosting in both a Business and a Personal class. The three Personal class plans range from $3 to $5 per month and have very limited features in speed, security, disk space, and other web developer features. Their three Business class plans range from $5.95 to $17.95 per month.
Products and Services
iPage customers will be happy to find free services along with their account, including website building tools, green energy certifications, a dependable data center, and lots of free marketing tools and credits usable with major search engine marketing.
InMotion has a range of products including VPS and dedicated server plans for those growing businesses that need more space and security. They also offer custom web design, as well as a 99.9% uptime promise from their two data centers located on opposite sides of the U.S.
Web Hosting Features
To match the iPage $3.50 plan you’d have to purchase the $17.95 “Pro” plan from InMotion. These plans come with unlimited disk space and data transfer. While InMotion puts a limit on email accounts, hosted domains, and MySQL databases, iPage offers unlimited amounts of each. Both plans come with scripting and software support, ecommerce solutions, and multi-media support.
The other plans offered by InMotion have reduced amounts of disk space, transfer, and other features for each lower price. However, even the basic Business class plan for $5.95 per month is not e-commerce ready.
Both iPage and InMotion offer 24 hour telephone support, as well as a plethora of guides and tutorials online for those who like to find answers on their own.
InMotion does offer some good plans with a very reasonable 90-day money back guarantee. However, for a fraction of the price and many more features, plus an anytime money-back guarantee, iPage gets our recommendation for the best plans at the best price.
