InMotion VS Superb Web Hosting
Shared-server web hosting was formed back in the 1990s when folks determined that they could partition a web server into smaller spaces, and offer to sell each little space as web hosting much cheaper than a full server hosting plan. Since then shared-server web hosting has become an industry norm with most hosting companies offering some type of this affordable level of service.
Disclosure: We are a professional review site that receives compensation from the companies whose products we review. We test each product thoroughly and give high marks to only the very best. We are independently owned and the opinions expressed here are our own.
However, many small and medium sized businesses find that a shared-server account works for a while, but they need additional web hosting resources when their business outgrows the plan’s limits. This is why companies like Inmotion Hosting and Superb Web Hosting designed their service to help growing businesses with plans that include shared-server, VPS, and dedicated server plans.
How do these advanced web hosting companies stack up together? We take a look at them side-by-side and give you our recommendation below.
Pricing
Inmotion has personal website plans ranging from $3 to $5 per month, but they are limited in scope. Their business class plans include the “Launch” plan for $5.95 per month, the “Power” plan for $7.95 per month, and the “Pro” plan that goes for $13.95 per month.
The shared hosting plans offered by Superb Hosting include the GridLite plan for as little as $4.99/mo, the GridPro plan for $6.99/mo, and the GridMax plan going for $14.99/mo.
Products and Services
As mentioned, both companies offer additional hosting plans including VPS and dedicated server plans. Superb also offers colocation hosting and professional managed hosting plans as well. Both companies also offer a 99.9% uptime guarantee and a 30 day money back guarantee.
Superb offers their clients additional services like daily backup, firewall protection, and IP address resolution. They also make it easy to add popular applications to your site with a single click. Superb also offers free marketing credits to use on popular search engines.
Inmotion offers clients the choice for professional custom web design, and have Google Adwords specialists onhand for SEO consultations. Inmotion also has instituted policies that help them save energy through efficient server technology and by joining a tree planting program.
Web Hosting Features
All the Inmotion plans offer unlimited monthly traffic and disk storage space. All Superb plans offer unlimited traffic but only the GridMax program offers unlimited disk space. All other plans from both companies offer generous amounts of disk space, email accounts, and databases.
Both companies offer support for 3rd party software and scripts, and offers a choice of eCommerce solutions with free shopping carts.
Customer Service
Both companies have excellent support at hand. Inmotion offers 24 hour support via telephone and chat, and has a well-designed online support help center with lots of articles and tutorials.
Superb also has 24 hour telephone and chat lines. However, their online help center is less user-friendly than Inmotion, and contains fewer self-help articles.
Recommendations
Ultimately these two web hosts offer very similar plans at similar prices, making a very difficult choice for new clients. However, if you were to take our word, we would recommend Superb Web Hosting for their outstanding plans, excellent extras that include free marketing credits, and the variety of upgradable hosting options with managed hosting, VPS, dedicated server, and colocation.
