Bluehost vs. Coolhandle
No matter where you look online you are bound to find web hosting names that appear more often than others. Bluehost may be one of those names, as they have been prominent in the web hosting industry since 1996. They host millions of domains with over 20,000 added each month.
Coolhandle has been doing web hosting business since 2001. And although not as long as Bluehost, Coolhandle still has over a decade of web hosting with a set of plans that include shared, VPS, and dedicated server hosting.

Both of these giants in the industry have found a niche and a loyal following. But which of these companies may be right for your small to medium business or even personal blog? We set them up side by side and give you our recommendation below.
Pricing
Bluehost.com has found a niche by offering only a single shared-server plan for a low price of just $5.95 per month. However, those businesses who want the “Pro” plan can buy up to $19.95 a month for a dedicated IP address, more CPU power, free backup, and other additional resources.
Coolhandle offers three shared hosting plans. The Starter Plan is just $4.95/mo, the Business Plan is $10.95/mo, and the Pro Plan is $12.95/mo. VPS plans start at $29.95 per month, and dedicated server plans start at $59.95 per month.
Products and Services
Coolhandle has a handle on business website needs. They offer additional products such as SSL certificates, dedicated IP address, content delivery services, and professional web design. Additionally, Coolhandle offers completely “Green” hosting with a commitment to purchase electricity from renewable energy sources.
Bluehost sticks with what they know best – a simple plan loaded with extra features without all the “extras” you have to pay for. But Bluehost does offer one nice feature for a shared hosting plan, and that is what they call Resource Protection. This gives consistent care to all customers automatic protection against other customers who may intentionally overuse bandwidth, disk space, or other resources.
Web Hosting Features
The Bluehost plan is loaded with features including unlimited bandwidth, disk space, email, and add-on domains. Clients get a full library of popular scripting support and multi-media support. Plus, the plan features free eCommerce features with a choice of shopping carts.
The Coolhandle plans all come with unlimited storage space, bandwidth. The “Pro” plan also get unlimited email accounts, domains, and MySQL databases. Like Bluehost, clients also get scripting and multi-media support, and eCommerce extras for all plans.
Customer Service
Bluehost has a veteran service staff ready to answer your technical assistance calls 24 hours a day. Clients can also do live chat, and email questions. Bluehost also provides an outstanding online helpdesk where clients can find the answers with just a few clicks.
Coolhandle also has a 24 hour technical hotline. And while they do have a knowledgebase, it is not as extensive nor as complete as Bluehost.
Recommendations
Ultimately a small business owner wants their website to succeed. And to do that he or she needs the support from the web host. Our recommendation goes to Bluehost for their complete package of outstanding and affordable deals, extra services for businesses, and offers room for growth with VPS protection at shared hosting prices.
