Web.com Web Hosting Review
Web.com has been on the web hosting scene for a long time. In fact, this company got its start in 1996, back when the World Wide Web was largely viewed as an experimental venture. From the very beginning, this company has been helping customers leverage the benefits of the internet with solutions that are powerful and easy to use. The Web.com portfolio is designed to meet the needs of individuals, developers and professionals looking to profit from online business.

Reliability (5/5)
The Web.com infrastructure is backed by a team of industry vets and the latest in technological advancements. This company has proven to be extremely dependable, formerly topping NetCraft’s top 50 list of most reliable hosting providers. A high-level of reliability is enabled by the utilization of powerful software products and the best breed of server hardware. Coupled with state of the art facilities, Web.com has the ability to deliver hosting solutions that sooth the most demanding needs.
Price Value (3/5)
Features in a web hosting plan are critical but these will cost you. Web.com offers packages on Windows and Linux plans, both of which start from $19.95 per month. Though considerably more expensive than similar offerings, these solutions are loaded with some pretty nice features. Both are geared towards developers with tools that range from open-source technologies such as PHP and Perl to Microsoft products like ASP Classic and ASP.NET. The Windows platform has a little more with support for the AJAX programming environment and MS Silverlight. E-commerce hosting starts from $59.95 but you have the option of adding business features onto your Windows or Linux-based package.
Control Panel (4/5)
Web.com provides its own control panel to administer your hosting account. This custom software is feature-rich and incredibly easy to use. The user-friendly interface provides easy access to your web templates, site statistics, search engine management tools and much more. This control panel is ideal for beginners starting out with their first site as well as experienced webmasters who have been going at it for years.
Customer Service (4/5)
Even through all the high ratings and acclaim, no web hosting provider could ever be perfect as every company has its flaws. In our opinion, Web.com could definitely step it up in the support department. Though a toll-free number and email address is offered, the staff isn’t as responsive as one would like and getting someone on the phone isn’t guaranteed. Additionally, the support system lacks many of the features that have become common on the market. There are tips and helpful tools integrated into the control panel but the resources are still limited in comparison to other solutions.
Overall Value (3.5/5)
All in all, Web.com is a reliable hosting provider with a track record you can bank on. However, the steep prices could be a turn off, especially during these harsh economic times. Due to the fancy price tag and flaws in the support area, Web.com is perhaps best suited for experienced developers and designers hosting sites for their own customers.
If you are looking for reliable hosting, then Web.com is an excellent choice. Sign up today to enjoy a one year free domain name, unlimited email, storage, and transfer – all for only $19.95 per month.
