1&1 Partners with Nimsoft
Last month, 1&1 Internet, a global leading web hosting provider, announced that it has chosen Nimsoft’s NMS (Nimsoft Monitoring Solution), to monitor its entire server infrastructure. Nimsoft is known as the first company to provide Unified Monitoring solutions while approximately 8 million customers and 10 million domains under management makes 1&1 the largest web hosting provider in the world. With a massive portfolio that consists of shared and dedicated hosting, a new suite of cloud computing solutions and internet service, 1&1 is responsible for maintaining a huge infrastructure compromised of well over 65,000 servers.
The expert IT staff at 1&1 came to the realization that the company’s existing monitoring system, an open-source solution, needed to be replaced in order to optimize the performance and availability of its servers in the most efficient manner. 1&1 evaluated monitoring services from a number of companies, including Hyperic and IBM. The web host eventually found that NMS was the only one that could provide the diverse combination of scalability, security and easy deployment it truly required.
Henning Kettler, CTO at 1&1, revealed that out of all the providers considered, only Nimsoft’s solution proved that it could meet company’s requirements for scalability and simplicity while simultaneously delivering the flexibility needed to comfortably adapt to its fast changing needs. As a result of the partnership, Kettler said that 1&1 is now able to deploy much faster and reap instant benefits with the confidence of a reliable solution that will continuously provide superior value over the long haul.
Gary Ready, President and CEO of Nimsoft, remarked that being selected by 1&1 is a true testament to the scalability and overall quality of its monitoring solution.
A proficient distributed architecture and security model makes Nimsoft the perfect solution for large enterprises such as 1&1. The well designed model for collecting and distributing critical information specifically helps 1&1 enhance the security of its server infrastructure while providing the scalability needed to efficiently aggregate the tremendous amounts of monitoring data the hosting company generates.
